Our Story
From our family to yours
Herbivore Florals is a story of legacy, love, and the beauty of fresh blooms. Rooted in the heart of Melbourne, it began its journey as Strathmore Flowers in the mid-20th century, founded by the mother of Lucas Stone (brother of renowned chef Curtis Stone). For decades, it stood as a community favourite, crafting stunning arrangements for all of life’s meaningful moments and building a loyal customer base that became like family.
Emma Schreenan, the current owner, grew up in the world of floristry, spending years working at Strathmore Flowers. Under the professional mentorship of Lucas Stone, she developed her craft and fostered a deep passion for flowers, forming a lifelong friendship with Lucas that continues to this day. When the opportunity arose during the COVID pandemic, Emma took a leap of faith, acquiring the business. Her vision? To honour its cherished legacy while bringing a fresh, modern perspective to Melbourne’s floral scene.
Emma’s passion proved to be contagious. Her partner, Emmett, was so inspired by the beauty and impact of Herbivore Florals that he made the bold decision to leave his career as a geologist in mineral exploration. Together, Emma and Emmett have poured their hearts into the business, with the desire to transform Herbivore into a leading name for floristry in Melbourne, known for its vision, creative designs, and personal touch.
Today, Herbivore Florals is a celebration of heritage and innovation, a place where generations of loyal customers meet new faces discovering our blooms for the first time. Whether it’s a bouquet for your everyday joys or an arrangement for life’s biggest milestones, we’re here to make every moment unforgettable.
